![]() Probably, I have joined Android-x86 Google Groups for around 6 years, but never contribute anything useful. But still my first Android gadget isn’t a phone ![]() I myself have used Android for long time, and my first phone is Samsung Galaxy Gio. If anyone asks … What is my first Android gadget mine? The answer is … DELL Inspiron 1440 that is installed with android-x86-2.3-RC1-asus_laptop.iso. Some components are licensed under GNU General Public License (GPL) 2.0 or later. This is an open source project licensed under Apache Public License 2.0. So they decide to create our code base to provide support on different x86 platforms, and set up a git server to host it. A few months after they created the project, they found out that we could do much more than just hosting patches. The original plan is to host different patches for android x86 support from open source community. Android-x86 is a project to port Android open source project to x86 platform, formerly known as “ patch hosting for android x86 support“.
